Dental Supplementary Insurance

You are covered if new dental conditions such as cavities or infections are diagnosed after your policy start and require medically necessary treatment.

If a tooth is damaged or lost due to an accident, we cover the medically necessary treatment.

Your insurance cover starts immediately on your chosen start date and applies to all new treatments after contract conclusion.

All persons insured under the German statutory health insurance (GKV) are eligible, as long as this membership remains in place.

You can freely choose any licensed dentist in Germany. Treatments abroad are covered up to the equivalent cost of treatment in Germany.

We cover medically necessary treatments to preserve or restore your natural teeth.

Treatments on existing crowns, bridges, implants or fillings are covered if medically necessary.

We also cover new examination and treatment methods that have proven effective in practice, even if they were not yet generally recognized at the time the contract was concluded.

Depending on your chosen tariff, we reimburse 75%, 90% or 100% of eligible costs – including the statutory health insurance share.

We reimburse professional teeth cleaning in full – without percentage reductions and without annual limits.

Covered treatments include crowns, bridges, dentures and implants, including necessary bone augmentation – within the scope of your selected tariff.

We reimburse dental services up to the maximum fee levels of the German dental fee schedule (GOZ) – up to 5 times the standard rate.

We cover medically necessary fillings, root canal treatments and periodontal treatments.

Orthodontic treatments are covered depending on age and medical necessity.

Non-medically necessary tooth whitening (bleaching) is covered up to €200 every two insurance years.

We also cover medically necessary pain-relieving measures such as general anaesthesia, laughing gas or twilight sedation when related to a covered treatment.
