Cases that started before your policy, or that fall into the waiting period, are not covered. Legal protection is for future events, not for backdated help.
Intentional criminal acts
We do not cover defense when you are finally convicted of intentional conduct. If an act was not intentional the related costs can be covered.
Fines and penalties
We cannot pay fines, penalties, or injunctions issued by courts or authorities for you.
Business or freelance disputes
Conflicts from your business, trade or freelance activity are not covered here. These are handled by separate business legal protection insurance.

What does legal protection insurance cover?
Legal protection insurance covers legal issues from your everyday life, job, and traffic. We help you with disputes after an accident, employment issues like termination or wages, as well as problems with private contracts and online purchases. Traffic law is always covered, unless a court determines intent. Rental disputes as a tenant or landlord are included with the Home extension. The insurance includes legal advice and the costs for attorneys and courts. Coverage is unlimited in Germany, and potentially subject to limits worldwide.
Who is eligible to get covered?

Why is there a waiting period and how does it work?
Most tariffs have a short waiting period. This prevents you from insuring a dispute that has already started. Your coverage applies to new incidents that begin after the waiting period expires. We transparently explain the exact waiting periods for your tariff during the application process.
How do I report a legal case?
Just go to the app and open "Report a Claim." We will immediately connect you with our partners. You can then instantly get legal advice over the phone or submit your claim directly and have the coverage confirmed. Important: Do not contact the opposing party before we have confirmed your coverage.
Are employer, landlord, online purchase, and authority disputes covered?
Yes. Your coverage includes employment law, for instance, in cases of termination, formal warnings, wage claims, or severance. Issues with private contracts and online purchases are covered by default. Rental disputes as a tenant or landlord are generally included with the Home extension.
